Choose The Right Sofa For You!

Choosing a sofa, can’t be that hard right? Think again, it can actually take weeks to choose the perfect sofa for your lounge and then it can take extra time on top for the delivery to be made!

With lots of fantastic ranges by BritishChesterfieldSofas available it’s hard to please everyone, let alone choose the right sofa for your room!

The sofa that currently presides in my lounge is old now and I am noticing deeper, sunken areas each time I sit down. I am in dire need of something new to place in my lounge. However with all the home improvements I am making at the moment, decorating the lounge has taken a back seat (excuse the pun!) for the moment. As such, I am reluctant to make any decisions on what sofa I would like to purchase until the walls have been wallpapered and painted, so that I know what colour schemes I am working with.

Ideally I would like to plump for a lighter coloured sofa, still in leather, perhaps a sofa from the classic collections by Still in leather just for ease of use and cleaning but a sofa that looks smart and inviting.

KateChesterfieldChaiseLoungeSofaWhiteColour1-500x500I have made some fantastic friends recently and it is definitely my turn to repay the favour and host some dinner parties at my house. Having somewhere comfy and inviting to sit down would certainly complement the evenings I have planned.

For instance, tomorrow the lovely Heather and I will be having a SodaStream party, just the two of us and of course, two SodaStreams! The cocktails may well be flowing, which is where a leather sofa comes in handy! Any spillage and it is super easy to mop up. I have a feeling we will definitely be putting our feet up – especially after the crazy busy time we have both had recently – that’s why a corner sofa is great, it is the perfect sofa for socialising!

Decorating OUR Home… Time For Our New Start

I really should not be spending time writing this blog post, if anything I should be spending it tidying up after Liv considering my parents arrive in less than 24 hours! It has been absolutely manic recently and with another two very busy weekends coming up I am struggling to keep on top of everything.

My Home Improvement project has been put on the back burner for a while whilst I get myself sorted. though I know my Mum and Dad are itching to help me put mine and Liv’s stamp on OUR home. I am sure if Liv had her way the OUR house would be pink, though fortunately I get to decide on 95% of the colour schemes in OUR house!

accent-black-gloss-sideboard_1295446688The colour scheme for the kitchen is quite an easy one to decide upon as the cupboards and floor tiles are a mixture of black and white – with a large open plan kitchen and dining room, the main feature wall is papered with a very funky blank and white floral wallpaper. I have a black glass dining table but could really do with some other black glass furniture, similar to some things I’ve seen on FADS here, to provide extra storage and match the gloss cupboard doors

That is the main problem in OUR house, we severely lack storage and with all our girlie things – quite a large area in our fridge is filled with nail varnishes after all!

There are plenty of sales on at the moment but I really must try my hardest to stay away from the Next Directory sale as I know full well that I will most likely purchase clothes as opposed to items for OUR house.

Now that storage is at the forefront of my mind, it is definitely something that I need to look more closely into. Either that or I could just declutter the units we already have. Though in all honesty a fresh start calls for fresh ideas and items and a clear out is probably long overdue!

Enjoying The Weather And Having Fun In The Garden

The past couple of weeks have whizzed by in a blur of garden parties and BBQ’s. It has been great for my daughter and I to get out and about and enjoy lazy days with our close friends whilst enjoying the marvellous heat wave we are currently experiencing.

Living in the garden, quite literally is great! As a sun worshipper I have already started developing a fantastic tan that I hope will keep me going throughout the summer 🙂 My daughter on the other hand does not worship the sun, for the simple fact she has much fairer skin than I so I really do need to keep a close eye on her. Getting her to sit down and enjoy time outside is also hard.

All Garden Fun!!

All Garden Fun!!

Children love to just run around and jump in paddling pools when the weather is this hot… as do adults I am sure. Though unfortunately a paddling pool alone is not enough to keep my daughter occupied. She needs more garden toys to keep her entertained and active.

Surely it’s about all garden fun and keeping everyone entertained and happy… as well as cool! We love to fill water pistols and run around the garden squirting them at each other. So much fun and definitely cooling!

I have found freezing Frubes, the tubes of yoghurt is a nifty and quick idea – much healthier than going through tubs of ice cream and so much easier to dispense too. When the weather is this warm, spending hours in the kitchen can be a nightmare and all I personally want to do is chill in the garden with a cold beer. Quick snacks are much easier to source, open and do not really need cooking… bonus!

Leaving more playtime! I am pretty sure my electricity bill will be much cheaper this month considering all the time we have spent out and about. Can only ever be a good thing! 🙂
